Posted Wednesday 15 Oct 2014

The BAFTA Qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF), one of the UK's leading short film festivals and most exciting cinematic events. I'm delighted to announce the programme for 2014, which includes over 300 films from 39 countries across all genres in animation, artist's film, drama, documentary, music video, thriller, comedy and more - featuring a number of UK premieres.

The BAFTA Qualifying ASFF: Aesthetica Short Film Festival is a celebration of independent film from across the world, and an outlet for supporting and championing short filmmaking. One of the UK's most exciting site-specific events, this year's festival will take place in 15 unique venues across the historic city of York from 6 - 9 November 2014.

The films span a diverse range of genres and filmic styles: advertising, animation, artists' film, comedy, documentary, drama, experimental, fashion, music video and thriller.

There will also be a series of masterclasses and workshops with leading industry figures from BAFTA, Channel 4, Ridley Scott Associates and many more, plus evening events and an awards ceremony. There will also be special screenings from Yorkshire Film Archive and Creative England's iShorts and official selections from guest countries: Iraq, Japan and Lebanon.
