Maori Television, New Zealand's indigenous broadcaster, has an
opportunity in the Programming Department for a highly motivated
person to join the External Productions team as a Programme
Buyer.
This newly created role involves acquiring the very best of
local and international programming for Maori Television. The
successful candidate will have a good understanding of the local
television environment and experience negotiating and contracting
programming deals both in NZ and internationally.
Responsible for purchasing feature films, documentaries,
children's' programmes and drama serials alongside other
programming, the Programme buyer will also have responsibility for
maintaining good relationships with international
distributors/producers and the local independent production
companies.
Knowledge of tikanga and te reo Maori will be an advantage.
